Chapters 31 & 32
Rolf's Points
(What's mentioned in the book)
For more on Watergate see The Watergate Scandal by Washington Post.
On the pressure of news journalists, see Johnson, The Information Diet, p. 35.
See also Lanier, Ten Arguments For Deleting Your Social Media Accounts Right Now, p. 68.
Giving up the news is quickly painted as immoral, just as in medieval times it was considered immoral not to attend church on Sundays.

Vale's Points
(What's supplemented when Vale was reading)
"The world can stay irrational longer than we can stay insane"
It seems that my peers mostly consume news for mainly two purposes:
1. Entertainment - it's sometimes nice to scornfully ridicule at the content published in news
2. Ability to hop onto conversations - but are those conversations meaningful at all? :x
