I used to watch documentaries on forensic investigation on civil engineering disasters like Seconds from Disaster and AirCrash Investigation and in those cases, there was always a strong emphasis on the notion that many other similar designs exist and are in use elsewhere around the world and hence the stakes are high. This is informative, as opposed to the personal stories of each person involved in a particular disaster or accident.
